Inseparable

To one small native girl, so innocent,
Generous spirits bestowed a great gift,
Her animal spirit corporeal,
Walking this path by her side vigilant.

Living life together arboreal,
Their spirits were one, inseparable,
They presented an image of power,
Sight of them together, memorable.

Their family tribe could not be prouder,
A great blessing they saw in this howler,
Good omen, to have a wolf as a friend,
Loyal, cunning, intelligent, hunter.

A lifetime together, the two did spend,
Wolf stayed by her side, 'til the very end,
A unison last breath, they did ascend,
Even in death, their friendship did transcend.
