Lie With Me

Lie with me
When my cheeks begin to blush
When you think on you I crush
When your blood begins to rush
When your touch turns me to mush

Lie with me
When I'm looking for a sign
And I need to know your mine
When life's good and all's fine
And for each other we pine

Lie with me
When we know we're meant to be
And forever you and me
When trouble you can foresee
And our future's unsteady

Lie with me
When things aren't going so great
And our feelings turn irate
When a fight begins to bait
And we're questioning our fate

Lie with me
When our lives are filled with stress
When everything's a big mess
When our hearts are in duress
When it's Death's door we caress

Please lie with me
 (for my husband)

I shared this poem with my poetry community, and the response was better than I could ever have hoped for. One man's response in particular made my heart swell with joy and gratitude. He posted this poem with mine, and said my words were the inspiration. I am touched and honored. Thank you Mr.Frederick Andrew.

"The loneliness of being

has no boundary
is immortal
likes it's weather fair or foul

has no weakness
is impartial
pierces facade mask and cowl

background to each brief encounter
universal undertone

born we live until our passing
fundamentally alone

how can we bear this dismal static
consequence of our design

dwell not upon its omnipresence
constantly reach out and love"
